Crane STS (ship-to-shore), is a type of special lifting machine used in docks, with speed advantage for the loading and unloading of container ships. The STS cranes is mainly composed of a gantry structure, boom, trolley, crane movement mechanism, boom lift system, mobile booth, machine room, spreader, electrical equipment and other necessary safety and auxiliary equipment.
STS cranes are two common types of: Container crane with articulated boom that is used on the coast of the sea, and fixed container crane with boom that is used on the river bank. Container crane with folding boom, the boom can be lifted in the air to clear the boats for navigation. The benefit of the fixed container crane with boom is to a large extent reducing investment and operating costs.
